‘Cases filed against mosques and dargahs in the country are against the Constitutional ethos’ : Rohinton Nariman

Former Supreme Court Justice Rohinton Nariman’s anti-Hindu statement

New Delhi – “Today we see cases being filed against mosques and dargahs all over the country. In my view, the only way to counter this is the Babri judgment, which upheld the Places of Worship Act. Therefore, the Babri case judgment should be read before every District and High Court as 5 pages of that judgment is a declaration of law of the Supreme Court which is mandatory for all. If the Places of Worship Act comes into force as stated in this judgment, then these type of things will easily stop,” stated former Supreme Court Justice Rohinton Nariman. He was speaking at a lecture on ‘Secularism and Indian Constitution’ organised by Ahmadi Foundation.

Editorial Perspective

These cases are being filed by Hindus under the right granted by the Constitution of India. Still, it is surprising for Hindus that such a statement is coming from a former judge.
