Mumbai – After the Mahayuti alliance secured a majority in the Legislative Assembly, the question of who will become the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra has been finally put to rest. Devendra Fadnavis’ name has been finalised for the position, and he will take the oath of office on 5thDecember at 5 p.m. in a grand ceremony at Azad Maidan in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At this event, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar are also likely to take the oath as Deputy Chief Ministers. Governor C P Radhakrishnan will administer the oath of office and secrecy to them.
The Chief Secretary of Maharashtra, Sujata Saunik, has sent invitations to the dignitaries for the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister. This grand event will take place in the presence of revered Saints and spiritual leaders. The swearing-in of some other ministers along with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister is also likely to take place at this time.

Mahayuti stakes claim to form the Government in Maharashtra
The Mahayuti alliance has staked claim to form the Government in Maharashtra. On December 4th, leaders of the Mahayuti alliance led by Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar handed over a letter of support from the MLAs to Governor C P Radhakrishnan. Following that, the Governor has invited the Mahayuti alliance to form the Government in Maharashtra. The oath-taking ceremony has been scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on 5thDecember.
‘The CM post is a technical matter; will run the Government together’ : Devendra Fadnavis, Future CM of Maharashtra
“The positions of Chief Minister or Deputy Chief Minister are a technical matter for us. The Mahayuti alliance will work together to run the Government with collective decision- making for the progress of the State,” Devendra Fadnavis, the future Chief Minister of Maharashtra, said at a press conference on 4thDecember. The press conference was attended by the current caretaker Chief Minister and Shiv Sena Chief Eknath Shinde, NCP Chief Ajit Pawar, and other leaders.
At the press conference, Fadnavis also said, “Eknath Shinde from Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar from NCP have submitted letters to the Governor supporting my appointment as Chief Minister. The Mahayuti alliance will provide Maharashtra with a good Government. We will make every effort to fulfill the promises made before the elections.”

“Two and a half years ago, Devendra Fadnavis recommended my name for the Chief Minister’s position. Today, I am recommending him for the same position. Government is being formed in a very cooperative environment. We will work together for the progress of the State,” Eknath Shinde said.

“We have experience in governing the State. Our effort will be to utilise this experience for the benefit of society. Maharashtra is leading in development, and we will strive to ensure further progress for the State,” Ajit Pawar said.
Shiv Sena’s stance regarding joining the Government remains uncertain
Devendra Fadnavis mentioned in the press conference that he met Eknath Shinde on 3rdDecember to persuade Shiv Sena to join the Cabinet. “We hope they will join the Government,” Fadnavis said. Eknath Shinde, on the other hand, said, “I will let you know whether we will participate in the Government or not.”
Devendra Fadnavis unanimously selected as BJP’s legislative party leader
Mumbai – Devendra Fadnavis has been unanimously selected as the leader of the BJP in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. This event took place on 4thDecember in the Legislative Assembly. The Chief Minister and the leader of the party in the legislative assembly are usually one and the same person.
In the meeting to choose BJP’s legislative party leader, Chandrakant Patil and Sudhir Mungantiwar proposed the name of Devendra Fadnavis. Pankaja Munde and Pravin Darekar endorsed the proposal. The BJP’s central observer, Vijay Rupani, announced Fadnavis’s appointment as the leader of the legislative party. Following this, victory slogans for Fadnavis were raised in the House. Fadnavis said, “In this election, the slogans ‘Ek Hai, Toh Safe Hai’ and ‘Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai’ echoed. Mahayuti alliance has won in Maharashtra under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
