Khalistanis stage agitations outside Lakshminarayan Temple despite Court’s prohibiting orders
Indian Consulate had organised a camp in temple area
Ottawa (Canada) – The supporters of Khalistan staged agitations against the Indian Government outside Lakshminarayan Temple at Scarborough in Ontario city. The Khalistan supporters waved Khalistan’s flags and raised slogans in support of Khalistan; besides raising slogans such as ‘Kill Modi’, ‘Who killed Nijjar ? It is the Indian Government’, etc. Despite the Court’s orders, the protests were going on. The Court had ordered against staging demonstrations within a 100 metre area around the temple; still the demonstrations went on. The officers of the Indian Consulate were holding the annual consular camp assisting old Indian nationals living in Canada which was also condemned by Khalistanis. The senior Indian nationals were provided a life certificate in this camp which is required for payment of pension by the Indian Government and is an important Government document. These camps are on the radar of Khalistan supporters. They are trying to create obstacles in the Indian Government’s work. Earlier, many such camps at different places in Canada were cancelled for security reasons.
It’s an attempt to destabilise India-Canada relations – Canadian journalist Daniel Bordman
Mr Daniel Bordman, a journalist from ‘National Telegraph’ who was covering the agitations shared a video on this incident. Bordman has stated that it was an attempt to destabilise India-Canada relations and disturb communal harmony in Canada. Khalistan supporters are active with the aid from foreign forces, especially Pakistan and China, to spread anarchy. The claims of demonstrators are baseless. They are trying to provoke violence at a place like temples which is dangerous.
