Ban and confiscate all loudspeakers on mosques : Israel
|
Tel Aviv (Israel) – Israeli Defence Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has directed the Police to ban the use of loudspeakers in mosques. Additionally, Police have been instructed to remove and confiscate these loudspeakers and impose fines on mosques that fail to comply. This step was taken following complaints of loud noise from mosque loudspeakers in East Jerusalem and several other areas.
This order has sparked opposition. Some city mayors have stated that they view Ben-Gvir’s order as an incitement against Muslims, which could lead to riots.
