The Belarusian President refuses to make a statement on Kashmir during Pakistan visit
Islamabad (Pakistan) – During the talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a broad format In Islamabad, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Belarus is strongly against escalating the situation between Pakistan and India. Prime Minister Sharif wanted Lukashenko to make a statement against India on the Kashmir issue; but he flatly refused to do so. Belarus is a friendly neighbour of Russia.
In this regard, a Pakistani journalist said that Prime Minister Sharif raised the Kashmir issue with Lukashenko; but Lukashenko said that, he would not make any statement on it. He said, “I have come only to discuss how to increase trade between the two countries. I will only talk about how to improve relations between Belarus and Pakistan. I will not make any statement on Kashmir or any other political issue”. He made it clear.
