Hindu devotees abducted by the military

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – The ISKCON centre in Shibchar, Bangladesh, has been forcibly shut down by Islamic extremists. Earlier, ISKCON’s religious leader in Bangladesh, Chinmoy Krishna Das, was arrested. Reports indicate that after the centre was shut, Hindu devotees of ISKCON were abducted by Bangladeshi military forces. Radha Raman Das, Vice President and spokesperson of ISKCON Kolkata, shared a post on ‘X’ stating, “The ISKCON centre in Bangladesh has been forcibly shut down by Muslims. The military arrived, packed ISKCON devotees into a vehicle, and took them away”

Das also shared a video showing a local leader of an Islamic extremist group demanding the closure of the ISKCON centre in Shibchar. The video further shows people removing signage from the ISKCON temple premises.

Editorial Perspective

The crisis faced by ISKCON in Bangladesh is a crisis for Hindu Dharma itself. Hindus worldwide must form pressure groups to compel the Indian Government to intervene in Bangladesh.
