“India is presenting incorrect facts, which go against our friendship” : Bangladesh

Bangladesh Objects to India’s Statement on Chinmoy Prabhu’s Arrest

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – “It is deeply regrettable that some people are spreading misinformation regarding the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu. The statements made by the Indian government not only present inaccurate facts but also contradict the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding between two neighbouring nations,” the Bangladeshi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in response to India’s recent remarks on Chinmoy Prabhu’s case.

Bangladesh further added that its government reiterates that the country’s judicial system is entirely independent and operates without interference from the government. The Bangladeshi government remains committed to maintaining religious harmony. It also expressed concerns over the brutal murder of Chittagong lawyer Saiful Islam and assured that security measures have been strengthened to ensure religious tolerance under all circumstances.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs, in a statement issued on Tuesday, said, “We are deeply concerned about Chinmoy Krishna Das’s arrest. It is unfortunate that criminals roam freely while a case is being pursued against a peaceful religious leader advocating for rightful demands.”

Editorial Perspective

Pot calling kettle black ! Bangladesh, which has filed false sedition charges and imprisoned Chinmoy Prabhu, must face India’s rightful criticism. If Bangladesh is troubled by this, India must consider taking further action !
