Delhi HC refuses to hear petition seeking establishment of ‘Sanatan Dharma Sankarasan Mandal’

Petitioners advised to approach Government

New Delhi – Delhi high court  on Wednesday dismissed a PIL requesting the formation of a ‘Sanatan Dharm Raksha Board.’ A division bench led by Chief Justice Manmohan, alongside Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, stated that policy matters are beyond the court’s purview and advised the petitioner to take the matter to the government instead. “You have to go to the government. We don’t do this. They (MPs) will raise it in Parliament. We can’t do anything in in this. We can’t say create a trust,” the bench said.

The petition, filed by Sanatan Hindu Sewa Sangh Trust through their legal representative Advocate Ashok Kumar, highlighted that, India is a secular nation, which is explicitly mentioned in the Constitution.

No response from the Union Government – Sanatan Hindu Seva Sangh Trust

The advocates of the petitioner ‘Sanatan Hindu Seva Sangh Trust’ argued that the Mandal is needed to protect Sanatan Dharma. There are similar Mandals for other religions too; but we have not received any response from the Union Government on our demand yet.
