BJP leads in 7 out of 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh
New Delhi – Counting of votes is underway for 46 assembly and 2 Lok Sabha seats in 15 states including Maharashtra and Jharkhand. By-elections for 9 assembly seats were held in UP.
The counting of votes for this commenced on November 23. The BJP is leading in 7 seats, while the Samajwadi Party candidate is leading in 2. The BJP lost many seats in UP in the Lok Sabha. These by-elections held after that were important for the BJP. Before the elections, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had given the slogan ‘Batenge toh katenge’ (‘If you divide, you will get killed’). This election shows that this slogan has had the right effect.
Priyanka Vadra is leading by three and a half lakh votes in Wayanad. In the Lok Sabha constituency of Wayanad in Kerala, Congress candidate Priyanka Vadra led by more than three and a half lakh votes. Therefore, her victory is assumed to be certain. Here the CPI(M)’s Satyan Mokeri is in second place, while the BJP’s Navaya Haridas is in third place. Rahul Gandhi contested the Lok Sabha elections from 2 constituencies, Rae Bareli (Uttar Pradesh) and Wayanad, and he won from both areas. He had to give up one seat. So he gave up the Wayanad seat.
