Attacks on the homes of 3 ministers and 6 MLAs in Manipur
Imphal (Manipur) – After the missing dead bodies of a woman and 2 children from Jiribam district last week were found on 15th November, angry protesters demanding justice for the dead targeted the residences of 3 ministers and 6 MLAs. The angry mob attacked Minister Sapam Ranjan, Chief Minister Biren Singh’s son-in-law and BJP MLA R.K. Imo Singh’s house was also targeted. Late at night, the angry mob also reached the residence of Chief Minister Biren Singh. Security forces fired teargas canisters and fired in the air to disperse the protesters. In view of the deteriorating situation, curfew has been imposed in 5 districts. Along with that, the internet has been shut down in 7 districts.

19 BJP MLAs along with some ministers have sent a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office demanding the removal of Chief Minister Biren Singh. According to sources, President’s Rule may be imposed in the state if the situation worsens in the next 2-3 days.
