Attack on Hindus by radical Muslims over alleged insult to Allah through Kartik Puja decorations

Murshidabad (Bengal) – Radical Muslims attacked Hindus near Harimati School in the Beldanga area of Murshidabad over decorative lights at the entrance of a public Kartik Puja pandal, alleging that the lights insulted Allah. Hindu homes and shops were set on fire following the incident. The attacks intensified after provocative messages were spread widely through local mosques and the internet.
According to reports, the Kartik Puja Committee had awarded the decoration contract for the pandal and entrance gate to Majerpara Electrical Mart owner S.K. Bashir. The decorative lights designed by him were alleged to insult Allah. It was also claimed that two Muslim workers involved in the decoration went missing.

BJP’s IT Cell head Amit Malviya tweeted about the incident, stating, “On the day of Kartik Puja, Muslims attacked Hindu homes in Beldanga, Murshidabad. Mamata Banerjee’s police remained mere spectators. Bengal has become a graveyard for Hindus. Every Hindu festival and puja is attacked here.”
A widely circulated video on social media shows a Muslim youth inciting others to kill Hindus.
According to the Murshidabad Superintendent of Police’s office, while the situation in Beldanga is under control, it remains tense. There are fears of further attacks on Hindus. The authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those disrupting communal harmony. As a preventive measure, internet services have been suspended, and police are engaging with both groups to maintain peace.
