Pune (Maharashtra) – In a recent address at the ‘Sant Sangam’ programme organised at Lady Ramabai Hall, Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj, representing the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, emphasised the need for unity within the Hindu community.

“Hinduism is all-embracing, non-judgmental, non-discriminating; but how much do we have to tolerate betrayal ? It is true that we should treat everyone with love, but for this we must exist !”, He said.

Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj encouraged citizens to vote in the coming Assembly elections for candidates who will uphold the Hindu values and traditions, and advocated a focus on Dharma rather than political parties.

Speaking further, Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj said that there must be a Uniform Civil Code in the country. He highlighted the significance of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s ideals in the country. He mentioned that Pasayadan of Santshrestha Jnaneshwar Maharaj is the manifesto of Hinduism.

While introducing the programme, Western Maharashtra Minister Kishore Chavan said that this initiative is to create awareness among the common citizens that till Hindus are in majority, the country and the Constitution will be safe.

Bhante Harshvardhan Shakya, Gyani Amarjit Singh, HBP Chidambareshwar Sakhre Maharaj, 1008 Kinnar Akhara Mahamandaleshwar Deepaji Nandgiri Jagavali Mataji, Raviraj Dada Punjabi of Sri Mahanubhava Panth were present on this occasion.
