TMC MP Saket Gokhale stops Devi Jagran programme in New Delhi citing mother’s illness
Hindu devotees outraged
New Delhi – Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale recently stopped a Devi Jagran programme at the Sindhu Gomti Apartments here, citing his mother’s illness as the reason and involving the Police. This incident has angered the residents, who claim the Jagran programme has been an annual tradition, but this year, the MP intervened with Police assistance to stop it.
1. One resident reported that Gokhale arrived at the gathering and said, “I will not allow this level of noise. My mother has a heart condition. If anything happens to her, you will be responsible.”
2. Residents explained that due to his mother’s health issues, he has consistently opposed the Jagran events, which are attended by people from the surrounding area each year. We were prepared to conduct the Jagran at a lower volume, but MP Gokhale arrived and called the Police to stop the programme. Women, children, and elderly individuals had gathered in large numbers for the programme, but no one listened to us.
3. Following this, residents complained to former Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta. Addressing the media, Gupta remarked, “This Jagran programme is being conducted
here for the last 25 years without any interruption, but now the face of those who are against Sanatan Dharma has been revealed. May God grant wisdom to the Trinamool Congress MP.”
Editorial Perspective5 daily calls to prayer (azaan) for 365 days a year do not seem to bother Saket Gokhale, but he is disturbed by just one night of Devi Jagran. This reveals his anti-Hindu mindset. |
