Women’s Commission Proposal to the State Government
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – In the wake of Ekta Gupta murder in Kanpur, the UP-State Women’s commission (SCW) has sent fresh proposal to the State Government on the safety of women. According to the proposal, male tailors cannot take measurement of women for clothing. Physical training centres and Yoga schools must have women instructors. At the Instruction centres CCTV must be installed. There must be a proper arrangement of toilets at such centres. The new policies will come into effect once the government approves the proposal.
Recently a meeting of the UP Women’s Commission was held. The issues related to women’s safety were discussed. It was decided to send some new proposals to the Yogi Adityanath Government.
The proposals included decisions that shops where women’s clothing and accessories are sold, must have female assistants for the female shoppers, in the school and college buses; female guards or teachers should be mandatory, female dance teachers to be appointed for the theatres, and install DVR (digital video recorder) and CCTV. Appoint female tailors to take measurements and tailoring of women’s clothes in the boutiques for women.
