A film based on the Godhra massacre, The Sabarmati Report, will be released on 15th November 2024

Mumbai – On 27th February 2002, the Sabarmati Express, coming from Ayodhya, arrived at Godhra railway station in Gujarat when extremists locked the doors of two train compartments from outside and set them on fire. In this incident, 59 Kar-sevaks were killed. The film The Sabarmati Report, based on this tragic event, is set to release on November 15.

Directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, the film’s trailer was launched in Mumbai on 6th November 2024. The massacre occurred during the tenure of Narendra Modi as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Speaking with the media about the film, Ekta Kapoor said, “I am not affiliated with any political group. I am simply on the side of truth. I am a Hindu, which means I am secular. I will never comment on any religion. The film’s release date was announced long ago and has no connection with the Maharashtra Assembly elections.”
