Political exploitation over Manipur violence to tarnish India’s image is unfortunate
External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar Rebukes Opposition
Mumbai – Dr S Jaishankar criticized the opposition, calling their political maneuvering over the Manipur violence regrettable. Speaking at a press conference at the BJP office, Jaishankar stressed that politicizing Manipur’s complex issues to damage India’s global image is inappropriate.
Reduced Infiltration Compared to Pre-2014
He added that, over the last decade, significant changes have been implemented along India’s borders. Thanks to progress in fencing projects, the level of infiltration seen before 2014 is no longer happening. He emphasized the government’s commitment to keeping India’s borders secure and pledged further fencing where necessary.
