US deports illegal Indian migrants in chartered flights

Similar action against citizens of several other countries

Washington (USA) – The US has arranged chartered flights to repatriate Indian citizens residing illegally. The Department of Homeland Security stated that this was done in cooperation with the Indian Government. These chartered flights were sent to India on October 22. The US Government took this step as part of enforcing passport regulations and preventing illegal entry. Over the past year, the US has deported individuals from many countries worldwide, including Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Egypt, Mauritania, Senegal, Uzbekistan, China, and India.
In a statement, the Department of Homeland Security mentioned that in the fiscal year 2024, over 1,60,000 individuals from over 145 countries, including India, have been sent back to their home countries. Indian nationals lacking legal grounds to stay in the US are facing immediate deportation.
