Every year, 1,000 women from minority communities face exploitation in Pakistan
India rebukes Pakistan for bringing up the Kashmir issue at the UN !
New York (USA) – During the annual meeting of the United Nations Security Council, as discussions were underway on women’s issues, Pakistan attempted to create a negative narrative against India by bringing up the Jammu and Kashmir issue. India responded firmly, condemning Pakistan’s attempt. Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, stated without mentioning Pakistan by name, that such actions by that country were condemnable and fit to be completely disregarded. He highlighted the deplorable condition of women, especially those from Hindu, Sikh, and Christian communities, in Pakistan. According to Pakistan’s own Human Rights Commission, nearly 1,000 women from these minority communities are subjected to kidnapping, forced conversion, and marriage every year.
Editorial PerspectiveThe thick-skinned Pakistan understands only the language of weapons, and not words and it must be addressed accordingly. |
