Every day of Diwali represents the conquest of good over evil, piousness over immorality and virtue over vice. In this Article, let us try to understand the Spiritual science underlying the rituals performed during Diwali and some frequently asked questions associated with Diwali (On 1st November 2024).
Why is lighting of the lamps in the evening more beneficial than lighting them after the puja ?
During Diwali, many people light lamps immediately after doing the puja (Worship) of God. Instead, one should light lamps in the evening because the Goddess’ maraktattva (Destroyer Principle) is fully active in the evening. When lamps are lit in the evening, the spiritually pure, sattvik nature of the lamps attracts Goddess Lakshmi’s Divine destroyer principle. As a result, the Tejtattva (Absolute Fire Principle) in the lamps is able to cleanse the house of negative energies and also gets blessed with Goddess Lakshmi’s Divine vibrations through the medium of the lamps, as their flame has the ability to attract Her Divine vibrations.
Why is lighting candles instead of oil lamps not suitable during Diwali ?
In today’s modern society, since many people do not understand the importance of earthen lamps, they succumb to the desire for fame and competition, deviate from the Divine norms of spiritual science and light different kinds of candles.
Since the candle is predominant in Tama-Raja components, the candle light attracts distressing negative energies from the atmosphere. The subtle smell of a candle has the ability to attract mantriks from the 7th region of Hell. Since candle light attracts distressing vibrations, it also acts as a medium of further spreading these negative vibrations into the environment. Therefore, it is incorrect to light candles during Diwali.
Along with the usual pillar candle, various shapes and forms of candles are available today. All these have the potential to attract tremendous amount of distressing elements. These energies take advantage of the shape and form of the candle and further induce and spread themselves in the environment. Thus, spaces that are originally not impacted by negative energies become plagued by them through the candles.
