US : 49 People Infected with E. Coli After Eating McDonald’s Burger

Washington (US) – At least 49 people in the US have shown symptoms of E. Coli infection after consuming McDonald’s “Quarter Pounder Hamburger,” with one reported death. Hospitalization of the infected individuals is currently ongoing.

The infection has spread across a minimum of 10 US states, with the highest number of cases in Colorado (27 cases) and Nebraska (9 cases).

According to local media reports, symptoms of E. Coli started appearing in citizens towards the end of September. Many of the affected individuals reportedly consumed McDonald’s “Quarter Pounder Hamburger.”

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has initiated an investigation, with preliminary findings suggesting that silver onions and beef in the “Quarter Pounder Hamburger” may be the source of the infection. Temporary bans on the sale of this item have been enforced in states where cases have been reported.

Symptoms of E. Coli Infection: Fever, vomiting, dry throat, lack of urination, dizziness, and, in some cases, kidney problems. Symptoms typically appear 3-4 days after infection.
