Arrest the Forest official for making objectionable statements regarding Hindu girls

Agitation by Hindu Jagarana Vedike

Putturu (Karnataka) – Bellare Police took into custody an official, who was attached to the Mangaluru forest division for making derogatory remarks. Police stated that the official was taken into custody for an inquiry. The Hindu Jagarana Vedike filed complaints with the Moodbidri Police and the forest department against Sanjeeva Kaniyoor, accusing him of making obscene and defamatory remarks about Billava community women and Hindu youths, which could incite communal tension and disturb societal peace. Under the leadership of ‘Hindu Jagarana Vedike’, a pro-Hindu organization, Hindus recently protested in front of the Deputy Commissioner of Police office in Putturu by reciting bhajans. The immediate arrest of the forest officer was demanded at this time. The Hindus expressed their determination to continue the agitation until he is arrested.

What is the matter ?

Sanjeeva Pujari Kaniyoor, Forest Officer

A few days ago, Sanjeeva Kaniyoor, Forest Officer of Panja sub-region of Dakshina Kannada district, criticized him for taking part in Bhajan of backward caste Hindu girls and also made false and outrageous statement that, ‘One lakh backward caste girls have become prostitutes’. Then Pratibha Kulai, a Congress leader in Mangalore said, ‘Backward class girls are made to dance in the streets during Bhajans. We don’t see upper caste people in Bhajan. Only our backward class girls dance in the procession’. (Congress leaders who try to divide Hindus on the basis of caste should be reprimanded by Hindus in a legitimate way. – Editor)
