Justin Trudeau admits to accusing India without having hard evidence

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau admits to his reckless accusations

Ottawa (Canada)/New Delhi – In a significant reversal, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has backed away from his allegations against India regarding the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. While providing detailed information to Canada’s internal enquiry committee, Trudeau said that he had been informed by intelligence from Canada and five other allied countries that India’s involvement in Nijjar’s murder was apparent. Following this information, they urgently communicated with the Indian Government. Trudeau noted that the Indian Government requested evidence from them, to which they responded, ‘The evidence lies in your security agencies’. However, while the Indian Government remained firm on its demand for evidence, Trudeau admitted that they did not possess hard evidence, only intelligence information. They then suggested a joint review of India’s security agencies, hoping to uncover evidence there. (As the accusations were leveled by Canada, why should India search for evidence ? If India were to falsely accuse Canada in a case in future and demand evidence from Canada, would that be acceptable ? – Editor)

Trudeau responsible for damage to India-Canada ties : India

Trudeau’s statements make it clear that he made false accusations against India. India’s Ministry of External Affairs has also responded to this information. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “What we have heard today only confirms what we have been saying consistently all along – Canada has presented us no evidence whatsoever in support of the serious allegations that it has chosen to level against India and Indian diplomats. The responsibility for the damage that this cavalier behaviour has caused to India-Canada relations lies with Prime Minister Trudeau alone.”

Editorial Perspectives

  • If a head of a country is so irresponsible, one can only wonder how they manage the affairs of the nation ! Trudeau’s false accusations against India have tarnished Canada’s reputation globally and strained its relations with India. Canadian citizens should now force this Khalistani-sympathiser Trudeau to resign.
  • India’s firm stance from the beginning regarding the Canada issue has led to Canada’s recent softened stance. This proves that such people need to be dealt with in a language they understand and not in the language of Gandhigiri !
  • The United States, which has been pressuring India based on Trudeau’s accusations, should now apologise to India ! India should demand such an apology.
