Fanatic Muslims vandalise and spit on Deity Durga idol

Kaushambi (Uttar Pradesh) – Muslim fanatics pelted stones and attacked the idol immersion procession of Shri Durga in Imam Chowki area under the Manjhanpur Police Station here. They vandalised the idol and spat on it. There was also an attempt to rape a Hindu woman. 6 Hindus have been injured in the attack. The Police have registered a case against over 12 Muslims in this matter.

The complainant Mandeep stated in the complaint that when the procession reached the house of a person named Mahtab, stones were pelted on it. This stone pelting was happening from the roof of the house. Some Hindus who participated in the procession were addressed by their castes and threats were given of killing them. Subsequently, many people entered the procession with swords in their hands.

The names of Ghulam Waris, Saeed Ahmed, Rahmat Ali, Hashmat Ali, Karim, Sameer, Samad, Jalil, Munawwar, Sagir, Khalil, Shami Muhammad, Idrish, Muhammad Ashiq, Al Faiz etc. have been mentioned in the complaint. Some Muslim women were also involved in the attack. They include Mahtab’s wife Soni, Rehman’s wife Begum Bano along with the wives of Sameer, Karim and Jalil.
