Muslim bus conductor molests a girl at Dapoli (Dist. Ratnagiri)

Dapoli – While the safety of women is becoming a concern everywhere, a shocking incident of molestation of a female student in the MSRTC bus, known for providing the safest services, has come to light. The incident took place in a bus traveling from Dapoli to Kolthare. After knowing about the incident of molestation, passengers and villagers surrounded the bus and questioned the conductor. At this time, the angry female students beat up the Muslim bus conductor Majid Mehboob Tamboli with footwear. Dabhol Marine Police came to the spot as soon as they got the information about this incident. The angry villagers blocked the road for some time and demanded strict action against the accused.
1. On October 9, a class 11 student complained that the conductor was molesting her while traveling from Vanaushi to Junior College in Panchanadi in the 8 a.m. bus from Dapoli to Kolthare.
2. Due to this, there was chaos in the bus. The bus was stopped. Villagers gathered around the bus and asked the conductor to get down and questioned him.
3. While beating him up with her footwear, the victim asked the conductor how he would feel if his own daughter was molested. She also asked what kind of ‘service’ he was doing. Other students also beat him up.
4. Regarding this, the concerned student told that while traveling 2 days ago, when the bus approached her alighting point, she asked the conductor to ring the bell; but he did not do so and took the bus further to Aghari village. While returning from Aghari, he said, ‘I took you on a tour today’. On the day of the incident, he even touched her leg.

Villagers demand action against the bus conductor
The villagers of Panchanadi village questioned the bus conductor. They became angry as he did not have any identity card with him. When the Police reached the spot, angry villagers demanded action against the conductor.
MSRTC officials were also questioned by the villagers. Villagers asked why the conductor does not have any proof of identity or a badge. They questioned exactly what documents are checked. They demanded action against the conductor accusing officials of supporting such miscreants. At this time, the officials assured of appropriate action against the conductor. (The officials who keep such conductors on duty without any badge or identity card must be fired – Editor). Dabhol Police took the accused into custody and the started the process of registering the crime.
