Hindus in Bengal launch campaign to boycott Bangladeshi goods
Revenge of the attacks on Bangladeshi Hindus
Kolkata (Bengal) – In response to the persecution and attacks on religious minorities, particularly Hindus, by Islamic extremists in Bangladesh, the Hindus in Bengal are uniting. While addressing the issue of Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators locally, they have also officially launched a boycott of goods imported from Bangladesh. This movement, known as #BoycottBangladesh, aims to send a clear message.
The ‘Bangladesh Out’ movement began on 5th August this year. When attacks on the Hindu community, their temples, and businesses started in Bangladesh, the Hindus of Bengal responded by imposing an economic boycott on goods and services from the neighbouring country.
Mayukh Pal, the organiser of the campaign, explained that the movement initially started informally. People voluntarily joined the cause, and funds were raised. Within a month, the movement spread across 12 Districts.
Mayukh Pal and his associates have printed posters promoting the boycott of Bangladeshi goods and displayed them in the busiest areas of the State, such as bus stands, railway stations, and markets. Over 2,500 posters were distributed, and more than 1 lakh Hindus were informed about this campaign. Volunteers of the movement reached out to people, educated them about the situation in Bangladesh, and encouraged them to pledge to boycott products from that country. Many people took an oath not to use Bangladeshi clothes and other goods.
It was reported that the Bangladesh Government had stopped the tradition of sending Hilsa fish from the Padma River to India during Durga Puja, but later reversed this decision. Despite this, Bengali Hindus have made it clear that the lives of Hindus matter more than fish. Many have vowed not to consume Hilsa fish from Bangladesh.
The movement has also attracted support from junior doctors and students. One doctor stated, “The situation of Hindus in Bangladesh is extremely concerning. Women are being abused, and Hindu temples are being destroyed. Hence, we are boycotting Bangladesh.”

Four demands of Bengali Hindus
Hindu activists associated with the movement, R Bangopadhyay, have outlined four key demands of Bengali Hindus. These include the immediate cessation of granting visas to Bangladeshi citizens, the deportation of Bangladeshi nationals involved in anti-India activities, blacklisting radical Islamic outfits that spread hatred against Hindus, and boycott of Bangladeshi products.
Bangopadhyay stated that the first three demands are directed at the Indian Government, while the fourth is for the Hindu community.
What do the posters say ?
The posters have appealed to “Boycott Bangladeshi garments that are stained with the blood of Hindus.” It includes a list of items produced by Bangladeshi companies like Zara, H&M, GAP, etc. The poster also lists Bangladeshi-imported clothing items such as sarees, churidars, T-shirts, shirts, jeans, sweaters, and lungis.
The campaign urges the Bengali Hindu community to stay vigilant against false propaganda spread through social media, attempting to cover up or suppress the atrocities committed against the Hindu community in Bangladesh. Many videos show Hindus in Bengal actively boycotting Bangladeshi goods, receiving widespread public support.
