When will the Government raid on churches and madarasas like Isha Foundation’s ashram ? : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti

Police raid on Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Ashram

Mumbai – After a hearing on a petition filed in the Madras High Court, police raided Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Foundation ashram in Coimbatore. The raid followed a case filed by the father of two adult girls who took sannyas (renounced their worldly life). During this incident, the Stalin government of Tamil Nadu deployed a force of 150 Police officers to the ashram. Is it really necessary to send such a large force just because a girl accepted sannyas ? The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti questioned whether the Stalin government has ever conducted a similar investigation by raiding any Church or Madarasa.

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti further stated in the press release that the ‘Stalin Government’ of Tamil Nadu has taken such action precisely because it is against the Sanatan Dharma. It is highly condemnable that in a Hindu-majority country, a raid is conducted on Hindu Saints’ ashrams simply because someone has taken sannyas. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti strongly condemns this incident.

Mr Ramesh Shinde, the National Spokesperson for the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, stated further in the press release,

1. Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and his Isha Foundation are making significant contributions to the social, national, and spiritual sectors, thereby enhancing India’s reputation globally. This foundation implements numerous initiatives for social welfare across the country.

2. Raids on such organisations, as if they are hideouts for extremists, are suspicious and appear to be a deliberate attempt to defame Hindu institutions in society.

3. Recently, a church priest named Raghuraj Kumar was reported for two years of abuse against a 14-year-old girl under the POCSO Act, yet the Tamil Nadu Police took no action for a month, allowing him to escape.

4. On one hand, there is Police indifference despite two years of abuse against a minor girl, while on the other hand, 150 police officers raid the ashram because an adult woman voluntarily accepted sannyas ! This clearly illustrates the Tamil Nadu Government’s hatred for the Sanatan Hindu religion and its bias in favour of Christianity.

5. Priests from the ‘Syro-Malankara Catholic Church,’ such as Benedict Anthony, have been accused of abusing women. Numerous incidents of sexual exploitation of women by Christian priests in Tamil Nadu have come to light; however, how many such church institutions has the Tamil Nadu Government raided ?

6. What more can we expect from the Tamil Nadu Stalin Government and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, which equate Sanatan Dharma with diseases like dengue and malaria, advocating for its end ? Therefore, the committee has also demanded that the Union Government investigate the hateful actions taken against the Isha Foundation.

Editorial Perspective

Please note that the Hindu community, saints and their ashrams are unsafe due to the anti-Hindu DMK Government in Tamil Nadu. If we want to prevent such attacks, effective Hindu unity is essential !
