Zakir Naik gets a huge welcome in Pakistan

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Zakir Naik, who is the role model for Jihadi terrorists and a ‘most wanted’ criminal for India, is currently on a tour of Pakistan. He was given a grand welcome there by the Pakistani Government. He will stay in Pakistan till October 28 and participate in various programmes. He has appealed to all Muslims to unite against India’s proposed Waqf Board Amendment Bill. Journalists and political experts in Pakistan have criticised the reception of Zakir Naik by the Government though. They have questioned why Zakir is being given so much importance when he is not the head of any country or a prominent personality at the international level.

Rana Mashood, who is known to be close to Pakistan Muslim League leader and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Additional Secretary of Ministry of Religious Affairs Syed Ala- ur-Rehman, Parliamentary Secretary for Religious Affairs Shamsher Mazari and many other leaders and officials were present at the Islamabad airport to welcome Zakir. At present, many prominent leaders of Pakistan have lined up to meet Zakir. Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has also met Zakir. Zakir has been living in Malaysia since 2016. The Indian Government is trying to get the Malaysian Government to extradite Zakir to India.

Editorial Perspective

Pakistan is giving red-carpet treatment to Naik only because he is an enemy to India and consequently, Pakistan’s friend ! What steps will the Indian Government take to teach Pakistan, which rubs salt on India’s wounds, a lessor for life, and to take Naik into custody ?

‘Millions of Hindus in India consume beef’: Zakir Naik’s lie

During a programme in Islamabad, a media representative asked Zakir if Indian Muslims should follow beef ban imposed by the Indian Government. Zakir replied, “I have a personal opinion and an Islamic opinion on this. Islamic Sharia requires you to follow the laws of the country you live in; but it should be verified whether that country is not against the rules of Allah and the Prophet. For example, if a country bans namaz, such law cannot be followed, because it is mandatory in Islam to perform namaz. The beef ban in India is a political issue. In fact, millions of Hindus in India consume beef.”

Editorial Perspectives

  • What Zakir wants to say actually is that no one can ban beef in India.
  • By calling millions of Hindus cow-eaters, Naik has insulted them. When will action be taken against Naik who repeatedly insults Hindus ?
