Security beefed up at places of worship, mosques and temples in Mumbai
Vigilance warning by Intelligence Department in the wake of the accident
Mumbai – Security has been beefed up at places of worship, mosques and temples in Mumbai following a warning by the intelligence agencies of a possible terrorist threat. A few days ago, someone called the office of Haji Ali Dargah and threatened to plant a bomb. Therefore, ‘mock drills’ (security checks) will be conducted at crowded places and places of worship.
A heavy Police presence has been kept in the Crawford Market area of South Mumbai. The Police said that the mock drill will be conducted keeping in mind the upcoming festive season and assembly elections.
As the assembly elections are likely to be held in November, strict security has been put in place in Mumbai to prevent any untoward incident.
