India ranks third in the list of the most powerful countries in the world, surpassing Japan

US ranks first, China second

New Delhi – In the Asia’s most powerful countries index (Asia Power Index), India has overtaken Japan to gain third position. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Union Government has given this information recently.

Australian Think Tank Lowy Institute has said that India is the third largest economy in the assessment list of economic growth of 27 countries. Asia Power Index determines the ranking of a powerful country based on a country’s ability to handle all kinds of crises including external aggression.

After Covid attack, India rapidly progressed economically. Due to expansion of economy and increase in the young population, India’s position became strong, and it got better ranking in the index of strong Asian countries. This will boost India’s position in the world. India has overtaken Japan which was third in the previous ranking.

US tops the list, China ranks second, followed by India, Japan, Australia and Russia in that order.
