The number of Indian tourists visiting the Maldives has dropped by over 50,000 this year

Male (Maldives) – The Maldivian Government is struggling to attract Indian tourists after an undeclared boycott by many Indian tourists. However, their efforts appear to be largely unsuccessful, and their already fragile economy is getting further impacted negatively.

The number of Indian tourists visiting the Maldives has dropped by over 50,000 this year. According to the Ministry of Tourism of the Maldives, 1,46,057 Indian tourists visited the Maldives by September 24th last year. In contrast, only 88,202 Indian tourists have visited this year till the same date, marking a decrease of 57,855 visitors.

Editorial Perspective

When Indians have taken a strict stand against the anti-India and pro-China Maldives, how come 88 thousand Indian tourists visit there ? It should be investigated who these tourists are.
