Will not allow the release of Pakistani actor’s film in Maharashtra under any circumstances : Raj Thackeray
Mumbai – ‘Legend of Maula Jat’, a Fawad Khan starrer is ready to be released in India very soon. Raj Thackeray has issued a warning to the concerned bodies that Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena will not allow the release of the film under any circumstances.
Raj Thackeray has posted a warning on X, saying “why are Pakistani starrers released in India ? Art knows no geographical boundaries is right only in context of other issues, but when it is Pakistan, it will not be allowed at all. Pakistan has only one purpose to survive and that is, ‘Hate India’. What is going on ? why are these artists coming to India for their dance programmes and cinemas ? Not only Maharashtra, anywhere else in India this cinema should not be released. Of course we cannot compel other States for this, but it will not be released in Maharashtra for sure. I wish that there should not be disturbance in the State for the unwanted Pakistani film. I believe that the government will address this issue.”
Do not get into unnecessary trouble with the release of this film
“I think the strong opposition by MNS to such incidents in the past, is still alive in the memory of all. For now, all the theatre owners are humbly requested that they should not take the trouble to release this film. This is the time of Navratrotsav, and we do not want any unrest in Maharashtra in this period. I believe the Chief Minister; the Home Minister and the Director general of Police also do not wish unrest. We also do not want unnecessary disturbance, therefore please take precaution and do not release this film. Those theatre owners who are reluctant to provide their theatres to Marathi cinema will pay dearly if they offer special welcome to this film in their theatres in India.” Warned Raj Thackeray.
