Speaking to a news channel, Shamoon Qasmi stated that during its 60 years in power, Congress mismanaged Waqf properties and gave the Waqf Board the freedom to loot. He further added that if inquiries were conducted into the committees and their presidents established by the Congress, they would end up in jail.
Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, has supported Mufti Qasmi’s opinion on this matter.
