New York (USA) – The BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in New York’s Melville area has been vandalised. Anti-India slogans have been written on the walls of the temple. Following this incident, the Indian Consulate in New York has strongly condemned the act. The consulate has issued a statement saying that discussions have been held with US authorities regarding the incident and has called for strict action against the perpetrators.

The temple’s Management has said that similar incidents have occurred in some temples in North America in recent days. They have condemned all such incidents and have called on the US Government to take action. The temple’s Management also said that they are in contact with officials at the Indian embassy and have urged everyone to maintain peace.
