Headmaster apologises after aggressive protest by Hindu organisations
Sonipat (Haryana) – In a Government school in Badauli village, Hindu girls were made to wear hijab during a school function, sparking widespread outrage. A video has been circulated showing the girls wearing hijab while performing namaz, followed by scenes of them embracing each other in the manner customary on Eid. Representatives of pro-Hindu organisations visited the school, condemning the act, stating, ” Islam is being imposed on Hindu girls. This is an insult of Hindu Dharma.” Following strong protests from the Hindu community, the school headmaster issued an apology.
1. Following strong opposition from Hindu organisations, the school headmaster provided an explanation, stating that the event was organised on the occasion of Eid to promote interfaith harmony among students. During the programme, a play was performed, and the girls were asked to wear hijab as part of the act.
2. Despite the headmaster’s explanation, the representatives of Hindu organisations were not convinced. The headmaster subsequently issued an apology, assuring that such an event would not be organised again. However, the Hindu organisations continued to demand the transfer of the teachers responsible for organising the programme.
