Hindu woman brutally assaulted and molested by religious fanatics in Mochi Galli, Ahilyanagar
Ahilyanagar (Maharashtra) – A Hindu woman was verbally abused with casteist remarks and beaten by a man identified as Shakur Shaikh over a minor issue related to parking a two-wheeler on 5th September in the Mochi Galli area. During the altercation, Shakur’s son, Aziz Shaikh, began recording a video of the woman. When the woman objected to the recording, Aziz threatened her, saying, ‘I will record the video and defame you by making it viral’. Both Shakur and Aziz then physically assaulted the woman, and Aziz also molested her. Additionally, Shakur, Aziz, and their relative Akhlaq Shaikh threatened the woman, saying, ‘We know how to throw you out. Let’s see how you come here tomorrow. We will finish you’.
When the woman fell to the ground, her mother came to her aid, but both were verbally abused and assaulted by Shakur and Aziz. The woman’s friend was also threatened during the incident. The victim’s husband has filed a complaint at the Kotwali Police Station regarding the incident.
The Police have arrested Shakur, Aziz, and Aklaq Shaikh and registered a case against them. They have been remanded to judicial custody. Shakur has illegally set up shops in Mochi Galli on land that does not belong to him and even collects rent from some shopkeepers. The arrogance of these religious fanatics in Mochi Galli has been growing, making it difficult for local Hindus to assert their rights to their own shops and property.
Courage of the Hindu woman
Despite the intimidation from local goons Shakur, Aziz, and Akhlaq, the Hindu woman fearlessly defended herself and her mother. In an act of self-defence, she slapped Shakur, surprising those present at the scene.
At the Police Station, one of the three goons attempted to intimidate the woman by staring at her angrily. When the Police took the woman back to the scene of the incident, another religious fanatic from the crowd started filming a woman providing information about the case. The Hindu woman promptly alerted the Police, who seized the phone and asked the person to delete the video.
