ISRO scientists send rocket to the moon and then visit temples : Javed Akhtar, Lyricist

Lyricist Javed Akhtar’s statement criticising science and religion

New Delhi – Renowned screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar has made a critical statement about science and religion, portraying them as contradictory. ‘A man in India from ISRO, who can send a rocket to the precise place of moon, but moon had chandralok, devi-devtas used to live there, you are sending a rocket there, and the moment you send it, you go out and you go to the temple. This is schizophrenia. It has happened for the first time in human history where your own knowledge and information, which you own, and your faith are not on the same page (sic)’, Javed Akhtar said in an interview.

Javed Akhtar further mentioned that all religions, without exception, are rooted in the dark ages. He added that people’s umbilical cords are still connected to the dark ages.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Is there a rule that those who believe in science must be atheists ? And is there a global policy that a believer cannot be a scientist ?
  • Javed Akhtar should also provide information about how many Islamic countries have made progress in science and have made scientific discoveries !
  • It is likely that Javed Akhtar also acknowledges that Muslims are still stuck in the medieval period; however, he should not compare this with Hindus !
