External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar

New Delhi – โ€œThe era of uninterrupted dialogue with Pakistan is over. What kind of relations with the neighbouring country can we hope to have now ? Earlier we have tried to have dialogue with Pakistan, but it failed because of their double standard regarding terrorism. Pakistan must realise that they must finish terrorism completely,โ€ said Dr S. Jaishankar, while speaking in a meeting here, he made it clear that now on there will be no dialogue with Pakistan. At this time, he also clarified Indiaโ€™s stand on Pakistan, Bangladesh and Maldives.

Dr S Jaishankarโ€™s views

1. A neighbour is always an enigma. There is no country in the world which does not face challenges from its neighbours.

2. India will not see terrorism and dialogue together. Pakistan will have to rethink its policies.

3. It is normal for us to have dialogue with the current Bangladesh Government. We must admit that the political changes in Bangladesh are dangerous. We must focus of each otherโ€™s interests.

4. Our relations with Maldives have had upheavals. There is a lack of stability. We have invested a lot in this relationship.

5. On social front, relations with the people are strong, If, today, we review our policies regarding Afghanistan we are clear about our interests. There is a difference between the Afghanistan when the US was there and now, when the US is absent from there.
