Why isn’t the Indian government educating its fishermen about International border rules ? For how long is India going to allow its fishermen to be arrested like this?… pic.twitter.com/MPlBhBXRUD

1. Till now Sri Lankan Navy has arrested 163 Indian fishermen in the past 72 days alleging that they were fishing beyond the international sea border. After political negotiations between the two countries, all fishermen are being released in batches.
2. The arrests of the fishermen have badly hit the fisheries industry at Ramanathapuram, Nagapattinam, and Puddukkottai. The fishermen are demanding that a permanent solution of this problem be found after talks between the two countries.
