Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina alleged that if she had relinquished control of St. Martin’s Island in Bangladesh and allowed the US to establish dominance over the Bay of Bengal, she would have stayed in power. Pierre has denied the allegation. He said, ‘We have no involvement in the political instability in Bangladesh. The news that the US administration is involved in these incidents is completely false.’

On the other hand, Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajib Wajed also said, ‘My mother has not made any such statement. She told me that she did not give any speech before or after she left Dhaka’, he explained.
