Samajwadi Party leader Nawab Singh Yadav with police

Kannauj (Uttar Pradesh) – Samajwadi Party leader Nawab Singh Yadav (age-50) was arrested by the Police for attempted rape of a minor girl. The victim, a 15-year-old girl, had visited a college run by Yadav with her aunt to seek a job. When the aunt went to the toilet, Yadav forcibly removed the minor girl’s clothes and tried to rape her.

Minor girl invited under the pretext of giving a job

Police said that Yadav called the minor girl and her aunt to the college on the pretext of giving them a job. Both were kept in the college till late night. He tried to sexually assault the girl in college itself. The aunt who had gone out entered the room at the right time. On the advice of her aunt, the minor girl contacted the Police on 112. The Police reached the college and accused was caught red-handed. When the Police produced the accused in the Court, he was sent to the jail. Further investigation is going on in this case.

A photograph of Yadav with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and senior Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav during the Lok Sabha elections has also surfaced. (Hence, a political intervention for Yadav’s release won’t be surprising – Editor).
