New Delhi – “Russian army has recruited 91 Indian soldiers of which, 8 have been killed. 14 have been sent back, some have reached India and some of them are yet to reach. Government is still waiting for the release of remaining 69 Indians”, informed External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar in the Lok Sabha. He was answering a question asked by AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi.
1. Owaisi further asked, “What action is being taken against those who tricked Indians and sent them to Russia ? If Russia does not send the Indians back, will India protest this matter ?”
2. Dr Jai Shankar answered, “There have been several indications regarding misguidance to Indians to join the Russian army. CBI has registered cases against 19 accused, who were involved in sending Indians abroad. There is evidence of human trafficking too.”
