NYT says attack on Bangladeshi Hindus is revenge by Muslims
Hindus being attacked for supporting ‘Awami League’, says anti-Hindu news portal ‘Scroll.in’
New York (USA)/ Delhi – Jihadi radical Muslims have unleashed attacks against Hindus in Bangladesh. Many Hindus have been killed and hundreds of Hindu houses and shops have been looted and set on fire. Many temples have been set on fire and some Hindu women have also been raped. Meanwhile, the western media has done anti-Hindu reporting. The New York Times (NYT) has termed the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh as ‘revenge of Muslims’, while the anti-Hindu Indian news portal Scroll has blamed the violence against Bangladeshi Hindus on Hindus in India.
Following is the reporting by NYT on the violence in Bangladesh
The headline of the article itself read ‘Hindus in Bangladesh Face Revenge Attacks After Prime Minister’s Exit’. By this, NYT wants to say that the Islamic radicals were wronged by the Hindus in the past, which is now being retaliated against.
Hindus are not being attacked because the attackers are radical Islamists, but because they are supporters of Sheikh Hasina. By this NYT wants to say that this attack is not religious but political in nature.
‘Scroll.in’ holds Hindus in India responsible for anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh
Scroll said,
Anger against the authoritarian Awami League Government continues to manifest itself in violent incidents even after the regime was successfully ousted from power. Every overthrow of power is followed by violence and there is nothing unusual about it.
The right-wing Indian media is making the situation worse by showing news of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. In fact, Hindus are also responsible for the violence perpetrated by Islamic radicals and people of ‘Jamaat-e-Islami’.
Rioters are attacking Hindus because they want to loot.
