Indian soldiers prevent entry of 600 Bangladeshis at Bengal’s Manikganj border
Kolkata (Bengal) – The Border Security Force blocked the attempt of 500 to 600 Bangladeshi citizens to enter India. This incident happened near Manikganj at the Indo-Bangladesh border. Those who were trying to infiltrate India were blocked by the officers of the North Bengal Frontier Force of the Border Security Force; and they were sent back into Bangladesh.
The North Bengal Frontier has published a notification that there is no movement of Bangladeshi minorities towards the Indian border. The people gathered were feeling very frightened because of the hostility and unrest. The Bangladesh Army has assured them safety and encouraged them to return home.
The North Bengal Frontier Force of the Border Security Force is responsible of the security on the 932.39 km part of the 4,096 km long Indo-Bangladesh Border in the North Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, and Koch Behar Districts of Bengal.
