Bangladesh’s Army and Police behind the attacks on Hindus
|
Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Attacks on Hindus are on the rise amid unrest in Bangladesh. The Police and army have turned spectators and are reluctant to bring the situation under control. They are equally responsible for this violence. Intelligence sources said that many idols and temples have been vandalised and demolished. Despite assurances from the army, no efforts have been made to save the Hindus in Bangladesh. In fact, the army and the Police are also looting houses.
Intelligence sources said,
1. Hindu families are being attacked. A Hindu professor was brutally beaten to death with a hammer. Hindu families have lost everything in Bangladesh and even now Hindu organisations are afraid to speak openly.
2. Hindus are not only attacked by radicals, but opposition to Hindus is becoming a terrorist movement. Since this has been going on for years, no leadership can control them. Huge amounts of funds from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf are fuelling Islamist groups. The army and Police giving free rein to these Islamists is a clear indication of their support for these goons.
3. According to reports by local media and officials of Hindu minority groups in Dhaka, attacks on Hindus have so far taken place in around 97 places.
Almost 4,000 attacks on Hindu community in Bangladesh since January 2013
There have been 4,000 attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh since 2013, according to intelligence sources. These are systematic attacks. The ongoing violence after Sheikh Hasina’s abdication is not spontaneous but deliberate and planned. Many actors have played an important role in this. Government agencies remain inactive as they have decided to let this continue for some time. Now Islamic groups have found a reason to attack Hindus and Indian policies are anti-Muslim.
Editorial PerspectiveThe future of Hindus in Bangladesh is apparent from the current state of affairs ! It is evident what happens when the guards turn to be the predators. The question arises whether India will now intervene to protect the Hindus there. |
