Muhammad Yunus to be Bangladesh’s interim President
Dhaka (Bangladesh) – After the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina there will be an interim government in Bangladesh. Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has been unanimously chosen as the President. The decision has been taken in a meeting at The Rashtrapati Bhavan on the night of 6th August. President Mohammad Shahabuddin, Key Co-ordinators of Students’ Movement, the Chiefs of the three Defence Forces were present at this meeting.
Muhammad Yunus is considered as an adversary of Sheikh Hasina. He also makes anti-India statements.
Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia released from house arrest
Bangladesh is under Military rule now. The Military has released 78-year-old Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister and the President of Bangladesh National Party. She is a hard-core adversary of Sheikh Hasina. She was sentenced to imprisonment under corruption charges. After she served the imprisonment term she was under house arrest. Currently she is admitted to the hospital for treatment. After her release from house arrest Khalida Zia said, “we must build our nation. The turn of the events is not good for the welfare of the country. The harm to the lives and properties must stop.
