Should such goons work in CM’s residence ? : SC slams Kejriwal’s aide
Bibhav Kumar, Delhi CM’s close aide, had assaulted MP Swati Maliwal
New Delhi – The Supreme Court slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s close aide Bibhav Kumar, while hearing the matter of assault on Aam Adami Party’s Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal. The Supreme Court asked, ‘What does he think ? Has power gotten to his head ? You made it look as if a goon has entered the premises.’ The Court asked Bibhav Kumar’s lawyer if the Chief Minister’s residence is a private bungalow and should such goons be working there.
The Court added, ‘We normally grant bail… we grant bail to murderers and killers. But we do not want to read the allegations against Bibhav Kumar in the matter of the assault on Maliwal. Maliwal had requested Bibhav that he should stop beating her as she had physical problems. Yet this man did not stop. What was he thinking ? Had power of being CM’s close aide gone to his head ?’
Bibhav Kumar was arrested after complaint filed by Maliwal. Since then, he is in the custody. Lower, Sessions and the High Courts have refused him bail. Now he has filed bail application in the Supreme Court. The matter is being heard in the Supreme Court.
