Manu Bhaker to be the first Indian to win two medals in the same Olympics
Paris (France) – India’s famous shooter Manu Bhaker has created history in the Paris Olympics. Bhaker has become the first athlete from the country to win two medals in the same Olympics. She won the women’s individual 10 m. She won the bronze medal in the air rifle final. Now she has made history by bagging another bronze medal in the mixed team air rifle final 10m with Sarabjot Singh. Norman Pritchard had won two silver medals in athletics in the year 1900. India was then under British rule.
Some Indian athletes have won two medals in an Olympic event in their career. Sushil Kumar (wrestling) and PV Sindhu (Badminton) are amongst them. Before winning a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics, Sushil won a bronze medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Badminton player Sindhu won a silver medal in the Rio 2016 Olympics, she then won a bronze medal in the 2020 Olympics held in Tokyo.
