18 coaches of Howrah-Mumbai Express derailed in Jharkhand : 3 killed
Ranchi (Jharkhand) – 18 coaches of Howrah-Mumbai Express have derailed in the early hours of 30th July at Chakradharpur in Jharkhand. 3 people have been killed and more than 150 have been injured in this accident. The coaches of this train derailed and hit a freight train. Rescue operations are underway at the scene. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. After this accident, many trains on this route have been cancelled.

According to the information given by the railways, the driver reduced train speed when he realised it may hit the freight train. A major disaster was thus averted; else the death toll could have been much higher.
