Why are those who are bothered by 5-minute Azaan not bothered by month-long road closure for the Kanwar Yatra ?
Maulana Tauqeer Raza’s anti-Hindu statement
(Maulana is a scholar of Islam)
Bareilly (UP) – Maulana Tauqeer Raza, the head of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council, stated, “People’s sleep is disturbed by the 5-minute Azaan. If there is no space in the mosque for a 10-minute namaz and someone is praying outside, it bothers you. Yet, the road closures for the month-long Kanwar Yatra do not bother you ? Is this justice or injustice ?”
Maulana Raza further stated, “Whatever is done for the convenience of the Kanwar Yatris needs to be done. We have no objection to that; but we object to the restrictions imposed on us. The Muharram procession always follows a fixed route. It never takes a new route. We do not create new traditions; but you people do. You do what your religion allows you to do but imposing restrictions on us is unjust.”
Muslims should do business with their own names on the shops
Maulana Tauqeer Raza further said, “Muslims should put up nameplates with their own names on their shops and houses. Those who do not do this have an intention to deceive or are afraid. It is not right to conduct business while hiding one’s identity. If you maintain cleanliness and conduct good business, people will buy from you. Those who hide their identity are weak.”
Criticising the Government, Raza said, “The Government issued this order to harass Muslims, which was stayed by the Court. Now, Muslims should think why to hide their identity. Rather, they are losing their true identity. They have gained so much freedom that they do not keep beards or wear caps, and their lifestyle has changed. The Court has allowed voluntary naming; I think every shopkeeper should put up a nameplate with their name. Reveal your identity as a Muslim. You should be proud of being a Muslim.”
