3 lakh increase in Pakistan’s Hindu population; but overall percentage reduces
Islamabad (Pakistan) – The population of Hindus in Pakistan increased to 38 Lakhs in 2023, making it the largest minority community in the country, according to the official data of 2023 census. This number shows an increase in the population compared to the 2017 census. In 2017, the Hindu Population was 35 lakh. There has been an increase of 3 lakh in the Hindu population, but its percentage in Pakistan’s overall population has reduced from 1.73% in 2017 to 1.61% in 2023.
1. In 2023 Pakistan’s population was 24,04,58,089. The official data showed that in the total population, the share of Muslims decreased slightly from 96.47% (in 2017) to 96.35% (in 2023). It is expected that by 2050, Pakistan’s population will be doubled.
2. The Ahmadi Muslim population has reduced. In 2017, it was 1,91,737 (about 0.09% of the total population). It has now reduced to 1,62,684 (0.07% of total Population).
Increase in Christian Population
There has been a rapid population increase in other minorities too. The Christian have increased from 26 lakh to 33 lakh. The population percentage of Christians has increased from 1.27% to 1.37%.
